VCMDWA is 2nd Best Association in the Country

Vidarbha Computer & Media Dealers' Welfare Association (VCMDWA), Nagpur has bagged Second Position out of 32 active computer associations in the country, as determined by a survey conducted by IDC India, India’s premier market research agency. It is an honor for Nagpur that leaving big IT cities behind we have bagged this position. Among all associations, VCMDWA rated highest in the analyst evaluation, as it scores high in almost all the parameters. Two years back i.e. in 2006-07 it ranked 8th in position, last year i.e. 2007-08, after many pains taken by the President, Mr.Prashant Ugemuge & all the members it directly bagged 3rd position & now this year 2008-09 it is 2nd in the country leaving behind the IT Cities like Pune & Banglore on 3rd & 10th position respectively.

VCMDWA organized around 30 meetings around the year, has conducted 3 awareness events for its members in the past year. To balance this out, VCMDWA conducted events like Diwali Milan, Haldi Kumkum on Sankranti, Garba during Nav ratri, Family Picnic as well as a show where ghazal singer Penaz Masani performed. VCMDWA also organized an overseas tour to Colombo for its members.

Amongst social obligations, VCMDWA donated 3 tricycles to handicapped persons & conducted blood donation camp. This aside VCMDWA found a novel way of distributing sweets on Diwali amongst slum dwellers. VCMDWA also adopted 11-year-old Prajwal & is looking after his education needs as well. VCMDWA also participated in the Peace Rally. It also organized a unique event at KP Ground wherein the citizens were requested to pay homage to the martyrs of 26/11-terror strike at Mumbai with an appeal "Remember Nation, Before Celebration".

Last but not the least it had successfully organized 2 COMP-EX in this year 2008-09. Despite of the fact that big cities had failed in their yearly expo, VCMDWA was confident that COMP-EX would beat this so-called recession period.

President of VCMDWA Mr. Prashant Ugemuge gives the credit of this success to all the members of the association who supported all the activities and participated wholeheartedly in all the events. He also thanked to the Citizens and local Media of Nagpur for supporting and making its premier annual event Compex a grand success.
